Welcome to Lancaster RC Youth Service Website

Manor Makeover is in full swing, with Bosco at the helm, overseeing operations. The whole house is full of builders, lots of dust, with new walls appearing, old walls disappearing, new shower and toilet facilities, en-suite bedrooms, disabled facilities and accommodation, the upgrading of the dining room and kitchen, and a new accommodation block for the team. You will be able to have a look around at the Barbeque and Open Day on Saturday 13 September when we expect most of the work to be completed. Please click here for tickets.

In the meantime, we are taking bookings for our Big Walk, 5-7 September 2014. For many years now, young people (16+) from across the diocese have embraced the adventure of a walking pilgrimage across the wild landscapes of the Lake District to join hundreds of other pilgrims at the shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Cleator. It’s a great way to meet up with old friends, make new friends, and enjoy some of Britain’s most spectacular scenery, and round off the summer. Click here if you would like to join us and complete the booking form immediately.

77 young people from across the diocese returned from Lourdes at the end of July. It was a fantastic experience, lots of sunburn, lots of tiredness, but lots of joy and fulfilment too. Once again we were all reminded of the power that comes with young people gathering together, celebrating their faith. At this time we are organising a coach to go down to London to enjoy a weekend at the Flame 2 event in Wembley in March 2015. Please book now (there are still a few places) and click here for a reminder of what a fantastic event the first one was two years ago and keep an eye out for details. We have also begun to take bookings for World Youth Day at the end of July 2016 in Krakow in Poland. Places are limited, so please fill in the online booking form here.

Can you support us in our work?

The Manor Makeover is in fully underway but we are still looking for funds to cover the costs of all the developments and to help with our ongoing work. Are you able to help? fifty years of the Youth Service gives us much to celebrate and our programme of refurbishment continues thanks to the generosity of so many people. We would love you to look over our proposals for the Manor Makeover and we are asking you to support the work through considering a donation yourselves.
