Welcome to Lancaster RC Youth Service Website
Lancaster Diocesan Youth Service is based at the youth retreat centre at Castlerigg Manor, Keswick. From Castlerigg Manor we run residential retreats for groups of young people from around the Diocese and beyond. We especially welcome groups from schools, parishes, and youth groups. Throughout the year our centre comes alive because of people like yourselves get involved, stepping out and signing up to see what a retreat at Castlerigg is all about.
Besides our retreat work we also offer opportunties to come and get involved with the other activities that the Youth Service are organising. After the Lourdes Pilgrimage, our next big event is the Big Walk in early September (see ‘Upcoming Events’) and then we will be taking a group of young people to meet with Pope Benedict XVI in London this September which will be very exciting. At this time we are also busy organising a group of young adults to attend the World Youth Day event in Madrid in 2011. If you are 17 by the time of the World Youth Day, sign up immediately for this great opportunity of a lifetime, to join with over a million young people from all around the world and meet the Pope.
And have you noticed our new Youth Service logo? A stylised capital ‘Y’ brings attention to the word ‘Youth’, but also represents Jesus Christ on the cross, bringing together the two in a modernistic icon.
