hello castlerigg team, its me alex, you probably won't remeber me but i could try to narrow it down for patricia, i was in your group with JOSH WIGGINS, he kept wearing your blue ear muffs-who can forget him!

i just wanted to say not a day flies past me where i haven't thought about my lifechanging experiance with you guys at castlerigg, there is not one day were all of us who went on the 1-5th december 2008 dont have a laugh or remember the time we spent with you, i really really really want to come back again, i will protest to my school demanding to take us again, it was the best thing ive ever done in my life and nothing will ever ever be just like it, all the team were amazing and i felt as if i were part of a HUGE family (well we are all family in gods view, but you know what i mean) i didnt want to leave and i still want to go back THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING how do you make it so unforgettable? beats me!

i know you probably wont reply to this message because you have so many but it would be nice if you could send me a short message, keep up with the good work and i might see you during my gapyear;)

i hope to be up there soon enough, all my love and kind regards, alexandra(;

Subject: Castlerigg revisited

Hello everyone,

I visited Castlerigg again back in February 2009, when I visited the lakes for the day with my family.  My first visit was back in 1970/1971 when I first moved to High School (All Hallows in Peel Hall Wythenshawe).  I still have vivid memories of my visit with my class mates and Mr and Mrs Sands and Miss McNichols who were the members of staff from All Hallows.

In February, I just had to to take the opportuntiy of visiting Casterigg, and was amazed to see that it was just as I had remembered it.  Father Peter very kindly showed me the chapel again, I always loved the chapel, it was the first time I had ever heard the song 'He aint heavy, he's my brother' and I just loved it.

I have been married now for almost 30 years and have 4 grown up children.  My experience of Castlerigg Manor has always been a fond memory and always will.

Keep up the hard work, it is much appreciated.

Regards

Collette Austin (nee Evans)

X All the games were really entertaining,as you are aware I didn't come to Castle-Rigg Manor last year and i was a bit consious of what it was going to be like i was worried about if it was going to be rubbish or boaring or just a waste of time and enerjy and my teacher Mr.Pugh was asking some of the people that came last year in my class what the best things are about castle-rigg before we arrived, and someone said 'The BEST thing is sir is you NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER get board! And as soon as I heard that, I couldn't wait to arrive!  because..... .x i am alwayssssssss board at home! But at castle-rigg that is true you never get board:) I loved it so much i didn't want to leave,The team is so fun and friendly and the rooms at night were really funny and me and my friends stayed up all night and did  an' all nighters every night..x.We had a BIG feast and it was so goodAnd the meal was not as bad as i thought because im fussy with my food but it was better than i expected.Dave is really cool and Becks is really pretty and funny and I remember at dinner Becks when we were eating roast dinner on the day we were leaving and all my table was complementing you and flattering you and Dave got a bit jelous haha  I really want to come back to castle-rigg and I'm sure im speaking on be-half of EVERYONE who visited this weekend;;x. I have never had so much fun in all my life!! !x.It was an OUTSTANDING experience and I am so happy that i came! !!!.I must say that one of the best parts was Newlands activity centre!xThat was truly wonderful and amazing jumping of the little hill and flying across the water high in the air jus with rope was so much fun to be really honest the whole Friday afternoon at newlands was absolutly fanastic!I really appreciated everything you did for us all and thankyou incredibly for letting me and my class stay in your fun -  packed house hehex xx.I really will come again because it was all a great life experience,we all appreciate it and a BIG thankyou to; Fr.Peter for entertaining us all in the afternoons wiv the foot race game and the crystal maze game! And to Becks for entertaining at night x. Dear Rachel.

Thankyou very much for your supportive email! Its great to hear from you. Castlerigg is NOT shutting down. The Bishop is provided a new vision for the centre. He aims for the centre to change its program and the way it is set up. Castlerigg is NOT closing though due to money, it is not closing at all. We are infact been refurbished .

Thankyou so much for your support though.

Love and Prayers

The Castlerigg Team.

Heyyyy gang!
Is it true you're shutting down?!
I hear you are and cause of money issues but it's okay guys we'll save you!!
Everyone loves this place so mcuh they are not willing to say goodbye yet
I go to a youth theatre and we've already started the ball rolling as the leader has been going to castlerigg for 40 years!
Also a member of the theatre is in the youth parliment so he's going to try and raise some awareness
if you it is in fact true that this is happening
we will do all the fund raising we can as we believe that every child should have the opportunity should go to castlerigg
Write back as soon as xxx
Much Love..x

When i went to castlerigg i thought it was going to be boring and really religious. But when i got there i was really happy. It was in a beautiful setting in the lake district and had loads of things to do during breaks. The accommodation is also quite good with huge rooms. The walk up the hill was really fun . The sessions were also fun and involved having to get to know people you don't really know. I really enjoyed castlerigg and you can definitely expect me in year 10
