Field Trips

Castlerigg is located near to numerous mountains, lakes, wildlife habitats and other places of interest. This, combined with the facilities, cost and ease of use make it an ideal base for field trips. Every year thousands of students and professionals come to this area to study subjects such as geography, geology, environmental science and other disciplines.

We can accommodate groups of between 13-24 in our Self-Catering facilities and groups in the main house on either a full or part board basis.

The facilities of Castlerigg, including the bar, tea & coffee making facilities, walking boots and cagoules, the games room & shop, conference rooms, and the extensive grounds may also be available depending on other demands on the centre.
