Gap Year Volunteers

We have 8 places available for young people who would like to spend a gap year working for the Youth Service based at Castlerigg Manor. The year, beginning at the end of August 2012, involves living at Castlerigg Manor in the heart of the beautiful Lake District. This year 3000 young people enjoyed residential retreats at Castlerigg. The team welcome the young people, share with them their faith, provide hospitality and lead them in different activities, walks, and times of reflection and prayer. In addition, members of the team go out to different schools and parishes to assist them with their programmes in what we call ‘outreach’. A year with the Youth Service is an amazing opportunity; all training is provided and life in community offers an incredible moment to orientate your whole life, grow in your faith, and discover wonderful friendships.
