As we set out on our journey towards Christmas, Advent is a special season to help us to prepare. At Castlerigg we are organising an open retreat for young people, the weekend of the 12-14 December, and a carol service on Sunday 14 December, and of course, our Advent Days for primary schools. But some of the team have also created a crib which has been installed in the Keswick Co-Op as part of the Keswick Nativity Festival. The crib is surrounded by the hills and lakes of the Lake District and reminds us that Christ is to be born once again here in our surroundings. Also, remembering the suffering of Christians in Palestine, Syria, Iraq and parts of Africa at this time, the caption announces: 'The World Needs a Stable Influence'.
