We want to give our beloved youth retreat centre in Keswick a facelift! As we celebrate 50 years of the Youth Service, we are working hard to make Castlerigg fit for purpose for the next 50 years!
The proposed building programme cannot be undertaken lightly, and will require significant financial and personal investment. We cannot do this alone and we are asking for the help of our parishes, schools, groups and individuals in raising funds to match a very generous bequest. 2013 sees the Youth Service celebrate 50 years of work with young people. That’s 3 generations of Catholics from across the North West! Can you help?
We still have a long way to go to meet our target of £100,000 however the amount raised so far means we can start to refurbish some rooms badly in need of a facelift. In December work will start on 10 bedrooms within the Manor which will see full redecoration– stripping, repainting and repairs to walls followed by newly laid carpets and curtains. We know this work will give a major boost to the young people who visit every week and help send the message that we are working towards ensuring as warm a welcome as possible is given.
