Lourdes 2017

Open to ages Year 11+ Prices from £650 for coach travel.

This year the Youth section for our annual Diocesan Pilgrimage will be led by Rev. Daniel Etienne:

It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself to you all as the Director of the Youth Section for this year’s pilgrimage. At Bishop Michael Campbell’s request, this duty will be one of my first as a priest, once-ordained this summer, DV, and I’m truly delighted to do so.

This year, we are asked to reflect on Our Lady’s prayer, the Magnificat, from the gospel of Luke, but in particular the phrase, “The Almighty has done great things for me!” This presents the wonderful opportunity of Lourdes in offering our thanksgiving to God for His work, active and powerful in our everyday lives. The pilgrimage presents us, too, with a great opportunity to discern God’s voice and promptings in our lives. This is especially significant for many young people who come to Our Lady in Lourdes at a certain crossroads in life, with regards to choices for now and into the future.

Our coach journey starts on 19th July and we will arrive in Lourdes on the Thursday afternoon, the day before the main group of the diocesan pilgrimage. This will give us chance to spend time together as a group and familiarise ourselves with Lourdes before picking up the pace when the other pilgrims arrive.

For information on travelling by flight, please email youth@lancasterlourdes.co.uk

In Lourdes we will be staying in a 4 star hotel and we will be back in England on the Saturday 29th July.

Fundraising ideas: cake sales, gig nights, bingo nights, car washes, sponsored walk, bike rides….so much more.
