Today is the London Marathon - 35,000 runners, from world-class athletes to the womble brigade, will be running, many of them for great causes. Through the years, we have been exhilarated to see the likes of Mo Farah and Paula Radcliffe running, and others, equally defying the odds. The oldest runner is a 101-year old, born on 1 April 1911 - and that is no April fool's day joke.
Next Sunday, 3 May, Fr Phil, Misha and some other friends of Castlerigg, will be running the equally prestigious and world-renowned Keswick Half Marathon which trumpets the fact that it is the country's hardest road race. Whether we complete the course as world-class athletes or as wombles, we will be endeavoring to raise funds for the Manor Makeover. If anyone would like to make a donation for this worthy cause and to give us an incentive to run faster, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
